Rental Conditions

Age and Driving License Requirements

The minimum age for renting a vehicle is 21 years old with at least 1 year of valid driving license experience. Different age and license requirements may apply for mid-range and premium vehicles.

The maximum rental age is 75. Drivers over the age of 75 must contact our company before making a reservation.

Only physical European or international driving licenses are accepted. Digital driving licenses are not valid.

Rental Duration and Reservation Policy

Rental periods are calculated on a daily (24 hours), weekly (7 days), or monthly (30 days) basis.

A 2-hour reservation grace period is provided. Exceeding this period may result in an additional 1-day rental charge. Reservations delayed by more than 2 hours may be canceled.

Payment and Security Deposit

Rental charges are collected in advance via cash or credit card at the time of signing the rental agreement.

A security deposit authorization is also taken via credit card.

Deposits are refunded within a maximum of 21 business days after the vehicle return. Deposits are processed as a pre-authorization/block, not as a direct charge.

Fuel Policy

Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as delivered. Missing fuel will be charged together with an additional service fee.

Mileage and Area of Use

Mileage limits may vary depending on the vehicle group. Detailed information is provided during reservation.

Additional mileage fees apply if the agreed mileage limit is exceeded.

Vehicles may only be driven on paved roads. Off-road use is strictly prohibited.

Vehicles may only be taken to countries approved by Comet Rent a Car. An additional Europe Package is mandatory for international travel.

Vehicles rented in Turkey may not be taken abroad and must remain within Turkish borders.

Traffic Fines and Additional Charges

All traffic fines, toll road fees, bridge fees, parking fees, and similar expenses are the responsibility of the renter.

Vehicle Usage

The vehicle may only be driven by the renter specified in the rental agreement.

Additional drivers must be added to the contract and meet the required age and driving license conditions.

Insurance and Damage Procedures

All vehicles are insured. In case of purchasing an insurance package, an official police report will be sufficient for accident procedures.

Damage excess fees apply separately for each damage case.

Accident and Damage Reporting Obligation

The renter is obligated to immediately inform Comet Rent a Car about any accident, damage, malfunction, or technical issue involving the vehicle.

Loss of Keys and Documents

Penalty charges apply in case of loss of vehicle keys, registration documents, or official vehicle papers.

Vehicle Cleanliness and Pets

Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited. Additional cleaning and disinfection charges may apply if smoking is detected.

Extra cleaning charges may also apply for pet hair, dirt, or odor caused by transporting animals.

Vehicle Return

No refunds are provided for unused rental days in case of early return.

Late returns may result in additional hourly charges or an extra full-day rental fee if exceeding 24 hours.

Vehicles must be parked safely and locked when not in use.

Hidden Damages and Later Detection

Hidden damages detected after vehicle return (such as underbody damage, inner bumper damage, wheel interior damage, etc.) will be charged to the renter.

Force Majeure

Comet Rent a Car shall not be held responsible for cancellations, delays, or service interruptions caused by war, natural disasters, strikes, epidemics, government decisions, or any events beyond reasonable control.

To make your car rental experience smooth and fast, it is important to have the required documents with you when picking up your vehicle. At Comet Car Rental, we provide our customers with a transparent and reliable Rent a Car service.

Documents required at vehicle pick-up:

  • Valid driver’s license: A valid driver’s license in Turkey is sufficient.

  • ID card or passport: You must present an official ID card or passport when renting a car. Identity verification is required for security and legal reasons.

  • Credit card: A valid credit card is required for the deposit at the time of pick-up. The deposit amount depends on the car category. For example, €350 is blocked for small cars, while higher amounts apply to mid-size and luxury vehicles. This practice is standard across all Rent a Car companies.

  • Reservation confirmation: If you booked online, bringing your email confirmation will speed up the process.

With all documents ready, you can pick up your car quickly from Comet Car Rental and start your journey with confidence.
